Sales and Use Tax Accountant

Key Responsibilities: Joining as a Sales Tax Specialist, you will play a vital role in our U.S. businesses. Under the guidance of the U.S. Group Tax Manager and Group Head of Tax, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact within our agile Group Tax team.

Your Journey Begins With:

  • Prepare, review, and submit state and local sales tax returns for the Corporation while ensuring meticulous compliance.
  • Maintain a tax rate lookup table to uphold accurate tax rates at all times.
  • Independently assess sales & use tax on taxable purchases where invoice does not include applicable tax.
  • Compile tax accounting payment summaries and ensure timely submissions.
  • Reconcile sales tax-related General Ledger (GL) liability tax accounts for the Corporation.
  • Familiarize yourself with the Corporation's accounting systems and sales tax engine to enhance understanding of compliance processes.
  • Manage Sales & Use tax State audits and Exemption Certificate maintenance.
  • Utilize Excel and automation tools to streamline reporting processes and efficiently manage recurring tasks.
  • Identify enhancements and efficiencies within monthly sales tax processes.
  • Complete related ad hoc duties as required.

What We're Looking For: We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a drive for career advancement, not just a "candidate". Ideally, you will have at least 2 years of experience in U.S. sales and use tax, along with a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills are highly valued. This role offers the opportunity to showcase your multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment and make a significant contribution to our cohesive team. Strong Excel skills are a definite advantage.
