We are seeking a talented Sales Engineer to play a crucial role in our team, specializing in the technical aspects of our clients' projects and products. This position involves identifying potential clients, effectively conveying the advantages of our solutions, and providing consultation for product development. You will also be responsible for presenting our product features to clients.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the sales and engineering teams to create project quotations.
- Expanding and maintaining new business relationships to maximize revenue and margin growth.
- Ensuring that projects meet system requirements by closely collaborating with customers and engineers.
- Developing sales approaches and pitches that align with client needs and objectives.
- Managing project opportunities throughout the quoting phase.
- Identifying and establishing new account relationships through leads, cold calls, and appointments.
- Delivering technical presentations to explain the workings of our products and services to customers, whether through phone calls, MS Teams, or in-person meetings.
- Building strong rapport and gaining acceptance from customers.
- Planning engineering modifications to fulfill client demands.
- Recommending cost-effective new and improved products to clients and explaining their benefits.
- Securing orders, maintaining product standards, and ensuring timely product delivery.
- Contributing to the Customer Relationship Management process, including promptly responding to customer inquiries.
- Collaborating with the sales team to understand customer demands and provide sales support.
- Managing Aftermarket Sales, including quoting spare parts and coordinating spare part orders with procurement.
- Working with the Accounting Department to handle spare part billings.
- Supporting outside sales efforts and assisting the VP of Business Development as needed.
- Providing timely and detailed status updates.
- Adhering to all safety rules, including safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
- Approximately 50% travel required.
Here are the qualifications you need:
- An associate degree in engineering, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- 2-4+ years of experience in Automation Sales.
- Proficiency in working with various design software.
- Skilled in creating intricate mechanical designs.
- Willingness to travel and visit potential and existing clients, attend trade shows, conferences, etc.
- Ability to comprehend and execute designs based on engineering specifications.
- Experience in creating designs and drawings that meet multiple criteria, specifications, and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, Teams, etc.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A self-motivated and flexible mindset.
- Strong computer and mathematical skills.
- Exceptional communication skills.
Having the following experiences and qualifications would be an advantage:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous customer service or sales experience.
- Proficiency in drafting and drawing in SolidWorks for project concepts (a plus).
- Experience with automation or manufacturing-related design.
- Knowledge of automation and manufacturing processes and designs.
