Location: Richmond, VA

Our client is seeking to fill the position of Instrument Sales Manager at their location in Richmond, VA. As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the expansion of a rapidly growing business unit in the Eastern Region. Your main focus will be on selling and providing support for our range of high-precision measuring instruments, which cover physical, chemical, mechanical, and structural properties. In addition to a competitive base salary ranging from $118,000 to $133,400, we offer a compensation package that includes a 20% to 30% bonus. You will also receive full benefits, a profit sharing contribution to your 401k, and a $10,000 anniversary bonus every five years.

Your role will involve:

  • Managing and cultivating a team of field and inside sales representatives, as well as product specialists
  • Ensuring that sales targets are met and effectively managing travel and expense budgets for the business unit
  • Providing daily support and guidance to the team
  • Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Service for the Eastern Region

Key skills and qualifications required:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales management, including previous direct sales experience, preferably in the field of analytical instrumentation or technical capital equipment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coach and train sales teams on effective selling strategies, negotiation techniques, and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-evolving organization and technology landscape
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical field is preferred
  • Availability to travel overnight up to 50% of the time
  • A valid driver's license and passport
