Sales Manager (Corrugate)
Job Title: Corrugate Sales Supervisor
Job Location: Flat Rock, MI
At our company, we are seeking a talented Sales Manager who will lead our sales team to generate revenue and volume growth by providing exceptional consultative service and strategic value to our customers.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the productivity of the sales team by focusing on customers' needs and utilizing their extensive knowledge of the corrugated packaging market, technical expertise, and consumer insights.
Key responsibilities include training and coaching sales representatives, collaborating with the Business Unit Sales Manager to establish goals and direction for the business unit, and ensuring continuous support to our customers, plants, Sales Representatives, and leadership.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Lead the sales team in exceeding volume and profit goals through new account development, growth in existing accounts, and margin improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with the Business Unit Sales Manager to develop the sales strategy for the business unit and communicate the strategic goals and direction
- Create processes, provide training, and develop tools to implement the business unit strategy while aligning activities and KPIs with strategic goals and objectives
- Manage the sales team to ensure a sufficient prospect pipeline is maintained to meet volume growth objectives and drive results
- Guide the sales team in identifying, closing, developing, and growing strategic accounts
- Analyze data to develop pricing and sales strategies for each target account in partnership with Sales Representatives and Pre-Pricing Specialists, ensuring alignment with business unit requirements, profitability goals, and plant production capabilities
- Negotiate large customer contracts and collaborate with Sales Representatives, Management, and Legal to develop formal agreements
- Oversee the pipeline through monthly sales meetings and cadence calls with Sales Representatives
- Assist in the development of the annual budget and monthly forecasts
- Conduct monthly performance review meetings with direct reports, identifying areas for improvement and discussing opportunities for growth and development
- Mentor and train the sales team to enhance their industry knowledge, relationship development, and proficiency in systems, tools, and processes
- Facilitate the onboarding, training, and coaching of new team members to ensure their productivity and effectiveness
- Maintain a motivated and engaged sales team, while continuously fostering their capability development
What You Need to Succeed:
- High School diploma or G.E.D., Bachelor’s degree preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry or corrugated industry; 5 years of sales leadership experience is preferred
- A proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales objectives
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills to accomplish goals and objectives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in leveraging order entry systems, CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce), and reporting systems
