Scheduler – Commercial Construction

Skills and Experience:
This is a senior-level role that will involve leading either large commercial projects or small projects in scheduling capacities. The main responsibilities include compiling and analyzing project information and creating clear and understandable documents to address design discrepancies and issues, while enhancing the efficiency of project planning and scheduling. The role also encompasses developing detailed schedules in collaboration with the project team and trade partners, as well as monitoring projects based on established timelines and departmental procedures. Additionally, the role involves inputting, analyzing, and monitoring design deliverables, procurement, and construction schedules, while generating internal and external reports detailing project status. The work required involves applying planning/scheduling and cost techniques and methods, based on the individual's level of experience, and incorporates substantial evaluation, analysis, and adjustment of such standards to resolve problems.
Requirements:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong aptitude for problem-solving and analysis.
- Excellent prioritization and organizational abilities with attention to detail.
- Proficient in using ERP cost management tools.
- Strong knowledge of Primavera 6.
- Working knowledge of software programs such as Excel and Word.
- Well-rounded understanding of construction disciplines.
- 7-10 years of prior experience in industrial or commercial construction is mandatory.
- B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration is preferred.
Essential Job Duties:
The Construction Timeline Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all project scheduling activities for assigned projects. They will utilize their expertise in schedule development and the construction industry to create schedules.
- Create conceptual schedules independently or with minimal input from the project team for discussion and refinement.
- Preferably, candidates with proficiency in scheduling and 3D modeling are sought.
- Maintain a database of estimated durations for activities and overall project durations.
- Develop the baseline overall schedule by properly sequencing and defining work activities.
- Supervise all project scheduling activities and provide necessary progress updates, forecasts, and reports.
- Create project schedule layouts in collaboration with the project team, including alternate schedules and progress measurement.
- Review and evaluate monthly updates to the schedule submitted by Vendors and Subcontractors.
- Ensure that the updates accurately reflect the completed work.
- Comprehend the flow and logistics necessary for project execution.
- Support ongoing projects by collaborating with the project manager and discipline leads to assess project status, identify improvement opportunities, address delays, and focus on critical areas.
- Propose alternative work plans to maintain project progress as scheduled.
- Complete any additional duties as requested by project management.
