Scheduler – Commercial Construction

Skills and Experience:


As a senior-level position, you will take on the role of lead on either large commercial projects or small projects to handle scheduling responsibilities. Your main tasks will include assembling and analyzing project information, preparing clear and concise documents to eliminate design discrepancies and problems, and improving the planning and scheduling efficiency. You will collaborate with the project team and trade partners to develop detailed schedules and monitor projects based on departmental procedures. Additionally, you will be responsible for inputting, analyzing, and monitoring design deliverables, procurement, and construction schedules, and preparing internal and external reports on project status. This role will require the application of planning, scheduling, and cost techniques and methods, involving substantial evaluation, analysis, and modification of such standards in problem-solving efforts.


Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP cost management tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera 6.
  • Working knowledge of programs such as Excel and Word.
  • Well-rounded base of knowledge in construction disciplines.
  • 7-10 years of previous industrial or commercial construction experience is required.
  • B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration preferred.

Essential Job Duties:


As the Project Scheduler, you will be responsible for overseeing all project-scheduling activities for assigned projects. You will utilize your knowledge and understanding of schedule development and the construction industry to create schedules. Your main duties will include:

  • Producing conceptual schedules independently or with minimal input from the project team.
  • Possessing strong expertise in scheduling and 3D modeling.
  • Maintaining a database of probable schedule durations by activities and overall durations.
  • Developing the baseline overall schedule using well-defined and properly sequenced work activities.
  • Overseeing all project scheduling activities and providing necessary status updates, forecasts, and reports.
  • Collaborating with the project team to develop project schedule layouts, alternate schedules, and progress measurement of the schedule.
  • Reviewing and critiquing Vendor and Subcontractor monthly updates to the schedule.
  • Verifying the accuracy of the updates in representing the work accomplished.
  • Understanding the flow and logistics required for project execution.
  • Supporting ongoing projects by working closely with project management and discipline leads to monitor project status and identify areas for improvement, potential delays, and additional focus.
  • Providing recommendations for work-around plans to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Performing other duties as requested by project management.
