Job Overview:

As an occupational therapist (OT), you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients to enhance their abilities in performing daily activities such as dressing, toileting, bathing, cooking, and recreational pursuits. You will utilize a variety of exercises to improve flexibility, strength, and range of joint motion. Additionally, your role will involve fine motor training and helping individuals regain muscle strength.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and provide ongoing supervision to ensure effective treatment plans

- Assist individuals in developing fine motor skills needed for tasks such as holding and releasing objects, as well as improving handwriting abilities

- Enhance hand-eye coordination for improved play skills, including hitting targets, batting balls, and copying from a blackboard

- Support individuals with developmental delays in performing daily tasks independently, including toileting, bathing, dressing, teeth brushing, and self-feeding

- Work with individuals who have sensory and attention challenges to improve focus and social skills

- Help individuals with behavioral disorders learn effective anger-management techniques, such as expressing emotions through writing or engaging in physical activities

- Evaluate the need for specialized equipment like wheelchairs, splints, bathing aids, dressing devices, or communication aids

Qualifications:

• Graduate degree required, either a master's degree or a clinical doctorate
