Job Description:

As an educational occupational therapist, your role will involve assessing and treating individuals to enhance their abilities in daily tasks such as dressing, toileting, bathing, cooking, and recreational activities. Your exercise regimens will focus on stretching, improving strength, and flexibility. You will also concentrate on restoring range of motion in joints, building muscle strength, and providing fine motor training.

Your Responsibilities will include:

- Conducting evaluations and providing supervision

- Aiding individuals in developing fine motor skills necessary for grasping, releasing objects, and mastering good handwriting techniques

- Addressing hand-eye coordination issues to improve play skills, such as hitting a target, batting a ball, or copying from a blackboard

- Assisting individuals with developmental delays in performing daily tasks more independently, including toileting, bathing, dressing, toothbrushing, and feeding themselves

- Working with those who have sensory and attention disorders to enhance focus and social skills

- Teaching individuals with behavioral disorders effective anger-management techniques, such as channeling anger through writing or engaging in physical activities instead of engaging in violence or disruptive behavior

- Assessing the need for specialized equipment like wheelchairs, splints, bathing aids, dressing devices, or communication aids for patients

Qualifications:

• Must possess a graduate degree, either a master's degree or a clinical doctorate
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to and welcome change
• Strong collaboration skills
• Proficient in documentation and writing
• Great interpersonal skills and a pleasant personality
