Our client is a leading provider of automation solutions for various industries such as food/bev, chemical, pharma, water/wastewater, printing, packaging, and CNC machining. They specialize in developing customized control systems that cater to the unique needs of their clients. As they continue to expand their operations, they are looking for a skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join their team and contribute to their ongoing success.
Responsibilities of a Senior Automation Engineer:
Take on a crucial role in designing, implementing, and supporting industrial control systems. Collaborate closely with clients to comprehend their requirements and devise innovative solutions using cutting-edge automation technology.
Daily Responsibilities
- Specify automation components and software, as well as electrical components, to align with customer specifications, application requirements, and industrial standards.
- Create and configure PLC programs to maximize performance or resolve intricate control issues.
- Provide assistance during the commissioning and startup phase of control systems, including the identification and resolution of electrical, mechanical, and software problems.
- Deliver on-site and remote support for installed systems, including troubleshooting, technical service, and repairs.
- Analyze the root cause of electrical, mechanical, and software failures and implement solutions to prevent their recurrence.
- Maintain and organize project files to ensure accurate documentation and efficient project management.
- Work collaboratively with project managers and the engineering manager to effectively schedule and prioritize tasks.
- Lead and train other automation engineers to promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements for Success
- Minimum 5 years of experience in designing and implementing industrial control systems or control panels, with a deep understanding of PLC programming.
- AS/BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or demonstrated industry experience.
- Preferred experience in one or more of the following automation platforms: Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, GE, Omron, Automation Direct, Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, ABB 800xA, FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Tatsoft, Ignition, iFix, Wonderware, as well as AC drives, DC drives, motion control, robotics, machine vision, and functional safety.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
