Summary of the Role

As a Senior Automation and Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation and automation in high-speed packaging operations across North America. This hands-on position involves designing, optimizing, and resolving issues with automation systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. Working closely with production, technical operations, and procurement teams, you will develop customized solutions aligned with our growth strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
• Devise and implement automation systems for packaging, processing, and material handling.
• Offer hands-on troubleshooting and collaborate with vendors to overcome system challenges.
• Identify and implement enhancements to improve line efficiency, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide guidance and support to site engineers on automation concepts and specifications.
• Stay updated with the latest practices and emerging technologies in packaging automation.

Your Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Technical Engineering is required.
• 5-7 years of experience in an automation or controls role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in food or high-speed packaging settings.
• Proficiency in automation control, PLC Ladder Logic programming, HMI design, and configuration.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SAP software is a plus.
• Strong collaboration and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%, depending on project requirements.

Preferred Experience

• Direct involvement in automation projects within the food, beverage, or consumer goods sectors.
• Experience working with equipment integrators and high-speed bottling systems.
• Knowledge of advanced packaging and processing automation technologies.
