Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to oversee the planning and execution of current product optimization and new product development projects. Reporting to the Manager of Product Engineering, you will play a vital role in the technical aspect of these initiatives.

Your Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and enhancement of electrical systems for heavy vehicles
- Utilize CAD software to create models and drawings in support of your projects
- Collect and analyze electrical system data
- Select and evaluate materials and components for electrical systems
- Contribute to the creation of machine documentation
- Conduct cost analysis of components and machines
- Manage the development cycle for multiple projects
- Establish testing requirements for functions and produce relevant documentation
- Provide mentorship to junior team members
Qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Possess 7+ years of design experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical circuit design, components, systems, and controls
- Have familiarity with data acquisition and communication protocols such as CAN bus, UDS, and SAE J1939
- Proficient in 3D CAD software; preferably Siemens NX
- Prior experience with Zuken E3 is highly desired
- Additional experience in heavy equipment, off-road vehicle, or truck electrical design is advantageous
- Familiarity with C programming would be beneficial
- Possess practical "hands-on" electrical experience
