Senior Electrical Engineer

If you have a background in electrical programming and wiring and enjoy designing innovative systems to solve customer challenges, our Electrical Engineer Project Leader position may be perfect for you. We are looking for someone with strong problem-solving and communication skills, as well as experience with AutoCAD. As an Electrical Engineer Project Leader, you will provide technical expertise in designing, developing, testing, troubleshooting, and installing specified equipment as necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer locations for the successful installation, start-up, and commissioning of packaging equipment.
  • Conduct machine testing (powering up and performing check-out functions) and troubleshooting to ensure packaging equipment meets customer acceptance criteria.
  • Design and layout electrical components and systems for packaging equipment.
  • Create electrical component schematic designs, panel layouts, and BOM development.
  • Lead electrical aspects of projects.
  • Develop and implement control programs for PLC, HMI, motion control, and message display systems.
  • Assist with coordinating assembly operations during equipment construction.
  • Handle customer service calls as needed.
  • Provide creative and accurate design solutions.
  • Effectively communicate electrical design intent to customers and other departments, ensuring fulfillment of their requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address conflicts, resolve issues, and incorporate suggestions/decisions into electrical designs.
  • Obtain quotations from vendors and set up parts in the ERP system.
  • Maintain electrical documentation.
  • Prepare timely and detailed reports.
  • Read electrical schematics.
  • Troubleshoot electrical wiring.
  • Understand packaging machines and processes.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent training and experience.
  • 0-3 years of experience in engineering design for packaging equipment.
  • 3-5 years of experience in PLC/HMI programming.
  • Experience in PLC, HMI, and motion control programming with Allen Bradley and Siemens.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use hand tools and basic electronic measuring devices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Eplan, AutoCAD, and various company systems.
  • Knowledge of networking and communication hardware and protocols.

Travel may be required, ranging from 10% to 15% (flexible).
