Job Summary 

We are seeking a Senior Field Technician to support and oversee operations in the field and provide accurate information to project controls of all work activities accomplished on-site. In this role, you will collaborate with superintendents and foremen to ensure the accurate construction of projects based on drawings and specifications, reporting to the project engineer. Successful candidates will have excellent communication skills to effectively interface with craft supervision, owners, vendors, subcontractors, and the project team. Travel will be required for this position.

Essential Functions

• Participate in the Estimate Turnover Meeting
• Conduct quantity takeoffs
• Assist in converting the estimate to a controlled budget and establish job files
• Coordinate and review submittals
• Attend and contribute to daily and weekly safety meetings
• Monitor quantities and perform necessary takeoffs
• Procure and schedule subcontractors and materials to meet crew requirements
• Supervise subcontractors and suppliers with support from staff, superintendents, and foremen
• Aid in the development and monitoring of work plans in collaboration with the project engineer, superintendents, and foremen
• Accurately manage quantity and cost reporting, and communicate results to superintendents and foremen
• Assist with pricing change orders
• Participate in the project document control process
• Facilitate documentation between ZCC and owner, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Maintain accurate records of project drawings and specifications
• Contribute to the project close-out process
• Finalize cost report quantities for payment applications and project reports
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of As-Built drawings
• Perform miscellaneous and other duties as required

Required Skills & Experience

• Must be eligible to obtain airport security clearance
• 3-5 years of recent experience in heavy highway, road, and bridge construction (preferably with prior heavy civil contractor internship) 
• Experience on medium to large projects (minimum $10M) is essential
• Proficiency in supporting multiple disciplines related to heavy civil projects
• Familiarity with Hard Dollar and SAP systems is preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Effective prioritization and organizational abilities with great attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Travel required for this role
