Senior Field Service – Automation

Technical Support Engineer - Security Systems

Purpose of the Role:

Join a team committed to providing exceptional installation, technical support, repair, and maintenance services for mechanical and electromechanical access control, closed-circuit television (CCTV), surveillance, intrusion detection systems, and other security devices at client sites.

Main Responsibilities:

- Travel to client locations to conduct testing, configuration, installation, and preventative maintenance on commercial and detention-grade locks, access control systems, intercommunications, and video surveillance systems.

- Anticipate 50% overnight travel, with an average of 2-3 nights per week. Most weekends will be spent at home.

- Participate in periodic week-long on-call rotations to promptly respond to emergency calls.

- Perform installation, servicing, and troubleshooting of low voltage and electromechanical systems.

- Record and report work performed, completing necessary documentation as required.

Do You Have the Qualifications or Experience?

- Possess mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

- Ability to climb ladders, work at significant heights, and lift objects weighing over 50 lbs.

- Willingness to travel overnight to remote locations.

- Capability to pass standard background checks required by clients.

- Enthusiasm for learning, retaining, and applying new information while collaborating effectively in teams.

- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and wiring diagrams.

- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

- Strong knowledge of electronics, circuits, and low voltage systems.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other online services.

- Interest and aptitude in software configuration and programming, particularly related to surveillance and access control systems.

- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

These Qualifications Would be Beneficial:

- Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience in automation controls, HMI/SCADA, electronics, mechanical, or electrical engineering.

- Fluent in PLC/Ladder Logic and Aveva programming.

- Experience in providing services in the government and corrections marketplace.
