Senior Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager

Exciting opportunity available for an individual looking to take on the role of leading a team at a poultry plant in Lewiston Woodville, NC. This position involves driving the implementation of Quality / Food Safety Policy and Quality Systems. The Senior FSQA Supervisor's responsibilities include identifying and investigating any potential Quality / Food Safety issues, as well as implementing strategies for improvement. Key duties include:

Assess, modify if necessary, and enforce Food Safety and Quality Management systems (FSQMS), including HACCP, SSOP, FSIS regulations, and other relevant programs.

· Provide executive reports on Food Safety and regulatory compliance, addressing concerns related to microbial management, and offering actionable recommendations. Ensure the company's assigned facilities adhere to microbial intervention processes.

· Act as a Subject Matter Expert, recommending improvements where necessary.

· Possess demonstrated transformational skills, including inspiring others, problem-solving, and effective communication across multiple organizations. Apply these skills to lead and motivate all members of the team, including management and community leaders.

· Evaluate the current workforce to assess strengths and identify areas for improvement.

· Establish and enhance collaborative relationships with sanitation and operations staff for improved performance.

· Develop and foster strong working relationships with USDA representatives.

· Lead and instruct the FSQA team in utilizing digital data collection systems and similar formats, such as SafetyChain, Trace Gains, Power Bi, and others.

The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of experience in FSQA. Additional requirements include:

· At least 5 years of experience in the poultry industry

· Solid knowledge of food safety and relevant regulations, with the possibility of certifications in this area

· A minimum of 10 years of progressive management or leadership experience

· 6 years of direct customer interface and support related to Quality and Food Safety

· Extensive experience managing verification programs, including NAE, NGMO, Gluten Free, BRC, SQF, and HACCP

· Strong background in microbiology and food science

· Extensive engagement with USDA regulations and guidelines

· Experience developing and maintaining company records related to process workflows and regulatory compliance

· Extensive knowledge and experience with intervention systems to reduce microbial risks in poultry processing

· Ability to effectively communicate and present the company's Food Safety and Quality strategy to senior management, regulatory bodies, customers, and copackers.

· Proven ability to thrive in a rapidly growing organization, with a track record of effectively addressing regulatory issues.

·Ability to approach challenges from a comprehensive perspective.
