Our thriving OEM client in the Evansville area is seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and design of automatic assembly equipment using SolidWorks software.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate feasibility of quotes based on customer requirements and specifications during the initial design phase
  • Create design concepts and solutions using computer programs/calculations and compare them with previous designs and customer specifications
  • Utilize 3D modeling software to develop equipment designs in alignment with customer requirements
  • Select appropriate materials, heat treatments, plating, etc., based on cost-effectiveness and project requirements
  • Review and maintain customer prints in the Engineering file
  • Effectively prioritize tasks and track progress to ensure timely completion
  • Manage budgets related to mechanical design, including materials and time
  • Collaborate with the Controls and Manufacturing Departments to review and refine designs
  • Create comprehensive drawing packages for fabrication and assembly
  • Thoroughly check drawings for accuracy and correctness
  • Provide assistance to the Manufacturing team during fabrication, assembly, and debug stages
  • Prepare specifications for vendor purchases
  • Develop Bills of Materials for purchased items, ensuring part numbers and revision levels match design requirements
  • Create presentations summarizing stress analysis results
  • Maintain accurate project records throughout the design and development process
  • Address customer inquiries and provide support for new programs and quotes

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation is required
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks is a must
