Senior Project Engineer

Location: Pensacola, FL

We are currently seeking a Lead Project Engineer for an upcoming $300 million project in Pensacola, FL scheduled to start in 2024.

Candidates should have prior experience working on medium to large heavy civil projects with a budget exceeding $30 million.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Thoroughly reviewing and understanding the contract and specifications.
  • Providing assistance to the Project Manager, Project Superintendent, and Project Engineer as needed.
  • Assisting in the preparation and updates of project schedules.
  • Managing quantity reporting, project costs, and forecasting.
  • Obtaining pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce to resolve any project challenges or conflicts.
  • Requisitioning equipment and material deliveries when necessary.
  • Managing document control, including submittal schedules, contract documents, and project record drawings.
  • Reviewing daily reports for accuracy using Heavy Job software.
  • Preparing and maintaining a technical submittal list, permits, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and Project Progress Schedule.
  • Ensuring compliance with inspection and testing requirements, survey staking, utility locations, claims, and other notice requirements.
  • Issuing correspondence to subcontractors and vendors regarding revised plans and specifications.
  • Contributing to project closeout activities.
  • Completing additional assignments as directed by the Project Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction Engineering and Management (CEM).
  • 3-5+ years of experience in the civil construction field, with a combination of office and field roles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Excel, Word, and Primavera 6.
