Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sr Project Manager to lead roadway construction projects from pre-construction through final closeout. This role involves managing crews, subcontractors, materials, and schedules while ensuring compliance with DOT specifications and project plans. The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator who drives performance, safety, and on-time project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations on road construction projects, including grading, paving, drainage, and traffic control.

• Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, materials, and equipment to meet project timelines and quality standards.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, including municipal and DOT representatives.

• Collaborate with the estimating team by reviewing plans, conducting quantity takeoffs, and supporting bid preparation.

• Track field quantities for billing; ensure accurate daily reports from superintendents and foremen.

• Manage all project-related billing processes: prepare pay applications, verify quantities, and follow up on payments.

• Control project costs by approving labor, materials, and subcontractor invoices; conduct audits at closeout.

• Submit required documentation, such as material submittals and schedules, in accordance with DOT/client standards.

• Attend and contribute to pre-bid, pre-construction, and progress meetings.

• Develop project phasing and traffic control plans; secure necessary permits and utility locates.

• Manage change orders: coordinate pricing, obtain approvals, and communicate changes to stakeholders.

• Confirm final billing quantities and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for accurate delivery and scope.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of roadway construction processes, DOT standards, and traffic control requirements.

• Strong commitment to job site safety and ability to meet all PPE requirements.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project or similar).

• Comfortable with digital reporting tools (e.g., tablets, smartphones).

• Minimum 3 years of experience in road construction project management or a related role.

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
