Job Summary of the Senior Quality Manager: The Senior Quality Manager plays a vital role in ensuring product safety, quality, and compliance with regulations at our manufacturing plant in Norfolk, Nebraska. You will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective quality system, conducting quality testing, managing labeling and complaint handling, and collaborating with sales and plant staff to address quality-related concerns and opportunities.

Qualifications of the Senior Quality Manager:

  • Implement and oversee the Quality Assurance Program in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Set quality assurance specifications for finished products, ingredients, and in-process testing, ensuring adherence to these standards.
  • Define quality specifications for incoming raw materials with Purchasing and monitor their compliance.
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor the QA team, providing guidance and support in their roles.
  • Develop and manage the laboratory budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities and strategies for improved margins.
  • Conduct timely research and analysis of customer complaints to address their concerns effectively.
  • Collaborate with the operations team on product and process development, overseeing test runs and reporting results.
  • Manage the inventory of off-spec materials, coordinating their reworking as necessary.
  • Conduct internal, vendor, and contract manufacturing audits as part of our quality assurance measures.
  • Maintain and enhance the quality assurance lab data system reports to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Ensure compliance with company, state, federal, and international safety and regulatory policies and practices.
  • Coordinate pest control services to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities of the Senior Quality Manager:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing quality assurance in a manufacturing setting
  • Must have experience in the dairy industry and familiarity with PMO (Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and proficiency in computer software applications
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role
