Senior Scheduler – Commercial Construction

This role will be based at the regional office in Nashville.

Skills and Experience:

This is a senior-level position that will lead either large commercial projects or small projects, overseeing scheduling responsibilities. The main responsibilities include gathering and analyzing project information, and preparing clear and concise documents that eliminate design discrepancies and issues, while enhancing project planning and scheduling efficiency. It involves developing detailed schedules in collaboration with the project team and trade partners, and monitoring projects based on set schedules and department procedures. The role also entails inputting, analyzing, and tracking design deliverables, procurement, and construction schedules. Additionally, internal and external reports describing project status will be developed. Problem-solving efforts will require the application of planning/scheduling and cost techniques and methods based on individual experience, involving extensive evaluation, analysis, and customization of such standards.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective prioritization and organizational skills; attention to detail is essential.
  • Proficient in using ERP cost management tools.
  • Proficient in using Primavera 6.
  • Working knowledge of programs such as Excel and Word.
  • Solid understanding of various construction disciplines.
  • Prior experience of 7-10 years in industrial or commercial construction is mandatory.
  • B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration is preferred.

Essential Job Duties:

The Lead Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all project scheduling activities for assigned projects. They will develop schedules based on their expertise in schedule development and the construction industry.

  • Create conceptual schedules independently or with minimal input from the project team for discussion and refinement.
  • Looking for candidates with proficiency in scheduling and 3D modeling.
  • Maintain a database of estimated activity durations and overall project durations.
  • Develop the baseline overall schedule by properly sequencing work activities.
  • Supervise project scheduling activities and provide timely status updates, forecasts, and reports as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop project schedule layouts, alternate schedules, and measure progress against the schedule.
  • Review and evaluate monthly schedule updates from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Ensure that the updates accurately reflect the work accomplished.
  • Understand the project's flow and logistical requirements.
  • Support ongoing projects by collaborating with the project manager and discipline leads, providing project status updates, identifying areas for improvement, delays, and areas that require focused attention.
  • Suggest alternative plans to keep the project on track.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by project management.
