LEAD STRUCTURAL/BRIDGE ENGINEER
Responsibilities and Duties
Our company is currently seeking a Lead Structural Engineer to join our team of experts in Transportation and Infrastructure. The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing expert technical support and leadership for transportation infrastructure projects, both public and private.
- Conducting research, design, and planning for load-bearing structures such as bridges, roadways, and retaining walls.
- Guiding and supervising junior engineers to ensure quality and adherence to industry standards.
- Assisting in the growth and management of the bridge design and inspection team.
- Overseeing engineering activities and project organization for bridge-related projects.
- Representing the company and projects at various meetings and conferences.
- Providing expertise and recommendations on project staffing.
- Contributing to proposal development, preliminary design, and client presentations.
- Ensuring engineering services meet professional standards, client requirements, and project objectives.
- Offering innovative solutions for bridge and transit structure design.
- Collaborating with teams to address project challenges and develop structural solutions.
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, contractors, and sub-consultants.
- Maintaining the company's reputation for excellence in bridge engineering.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master’s Degree is a plus).
- At least 10 years of experience in engineering, with a focus on structural or civil design.
- Valid Professional Engineer license in Ohio (additional state licenses preferred).
- Expertise in structural engineering principles, practices, design/build, and their application to projects.
- Extensive experience in bridge and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
- Thorough understanding of relevant construction laws, codes, and regulations.
- Experience conducting inspections and investigations on structures, bridges, and related construction.
- Ability to review documents and prepare complex technical deliverables and plans.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills for effective decision-making.
- Flexibility in working schedules and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
- Occasional travel may be required for project-specific needs.
Salary and Compensation
- Full-Time position with a salary range of $100,000 to $140,000 per year, plus bonuses.
