Senior Tax Manager – Public Accounting – Estate and Trust Tax

Location: Chandler, AZ
Growing accounting firm with two locations in Arizona, Scottsdale and Chandler, is seeking a Senior Estate and Trust Tax Manager to join their team.

Job duties:
  • Assist in developing strategies for wealth preservation, estate and gift tax planning, retirement plan distributions, charitable giving methods, gifting limitations, transfer tax credit equivalence, generational skipping-transfers, split gifting, spousal trusts, and education and medical gifting.
  • Review, approve, and manage tax returns, as well as oversee projects related to individuals, partnerships, and S corporations.
  • Provide tax planning and consultation for individuals and businesses.
  • Prepare fiduciary income tax returns and plan for their execution.
  • Handle complex tax matters through research and management.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train staff, seniors, and supervisors.
  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor.
  • Develop and expand new business opportunities.
  • Maintain and nurture existing client relationships.
  • Establish network and connections with referral sources.
  • Consult with clients to gather information, resolve issues, and suggest solutions.
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a must, with a preference for a Masters in Tax.
  • Minimum of 10 years of tax experience in public accounting.
  • Active CPA license is required.
  • Experience in management within a public accounting firm.
  • Ability to collaborate with client service teams, including staff, managers, and partners.
  • A self-motivated individual with strong multitasking skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Professionalism, dependability, integrity, trustworthiness, and a cooperative attitude.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
