Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in C++ and Python development and a solid foundational knowledge of computer science. As a Signal Processing Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) engineers and other experts in the field to enhance existing tools and develop innovative ones.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of signal processing techniques and algorithms, a strong math background (especially in Fourier transforms and linear algebra), familiarity with geolocation techniques, and a basic understanding of RF physics. These skills will greatly contribute to your success in this role.

Your responsibilities will include rapid prototyping, improvement and modification of a suite of signal processing tools, implementation of real-time algorithms on Linux-based SDR platforms, support for customer needs and requirements, as well as analyzing and troubleshooting system performance.


To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • C++ and Python proficiency
  • Experience working in a team development environment using version control
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in developing systems for the Intelligence and Defense communities
  • Comfort in a Linux development environment
  • B.S. or higher in Computer Engineering or Computer Science

Desired Experience:

  • Familiarity with XMIDAS
  • Knowledge of Java
  • GUI development experience (e.g., QT)
  • Code management proficiency (e.g., Git)
  • Experience with Intel Compiler and/or Intel optimization tools (e.g., VTune)
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (e.g., JIRA, Stash, Confluence, and Jenkins)
  • Ability to analyze and improve the performance of existing algorithms using various methods (refactoring, optimization, multi-threading, use of performance analysis tools)
  • Understanding of multi-threaded signal processing algorithms in Python/C++ on Linux hosts
  • Comfortable with remote team collaboration
