Site Civil Senior Engineer (NCEES)

Position Summary:
The Site Civil Senior Engineer will be responsible for the technical execution of a variety of civil engineering projects, including municipal infrastructure, residential design, site development, and other related civil projects. This role requires collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The position also involves field travel to document existing conditions at project sites, locally, regionally, and nationally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and manage medium-scale engineering projects

• Perform detailed engineering design and calculations

• Analyze challenges, identify solutions, and implement corrective actions

• Prepare comprehensive engineering reports and correspondence

• Assist with project management from initiation through completion

• Maintain professional interaction with clients and project stakeholders

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

• Read, analyze, and interpret plans and specifications for large-scale site development projects

• Oversee design, procurement, and construction phases of projects

• Support the development of resource-loaded work plans for accurate forecasting and project management

• Assist with contract negotiations and manage the change control process

• Provide expertise on federal projects, special provisions, and specifications

• Lead feasibility studies, engineering reports, and economic analyses

• Ensure projects remain compliant with budgets, schedules, standards, and objectives

• Support budget and staffing planning, as well as department and project budgeting

• Prepare and present reports to management, staff, clients, and regulatory officials

• Help resolve design, construction, third-party, and operational issues

• Recommend improvements for design processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness

• Participate in preparing contract front-end documents

• Review consultant plans and specifications for technical completeness and accuracy

Skills & Qualifications:

• Familiarity with current design trends and industry standards in civil engineering

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to prepare project proposals and accurately estimate project fees

• Willingness to travel overnight by car or air as needed

• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D software

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard software applications
