- As a member of our Speech-Language Therapy team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents. Responsibilities include assessing residents for communication issues, creating and implementing therapy plans, and providing ongoing treatment and care. Your expertise will help maintain the highest quality of resident care.

Responsibilities:
1. Receive and respond to requests for communication assessments and evaluations from residents; develop therapy plans if necessary.
2. Coordinate audiometric screenings and make referrals for further audiology evaluations or treatments as needed.
3. Initiate speech-language therapy plans according to physician orders and maintain regular communication with physicians.
4. Treat residents with respect and kindness, upholding their rights and ensuring their well-being.
5. Maintain thorough and accurate records of evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries for all residents receiving speech-language therapy.
6. Collaborate with other staff members to address the specific needs of residents and integrate speech-language therapy with other disciplines.
7. Participate in Resident Care Planning and Family/Resident Care Plan Review meetings for residents in speech-language treatment programs.
8. Keep detailed records including statistical reports, in-service education information, budget details, and inventory of materials and equipment.
9. Prepare statistical reports for Medicare billing and complete assessment forms as required.
10. Attend staff meetings and participate in training programs.
11. Contribute to the development and delivery of in-service training programs for facility personnel involved in resident care.
12. Review and revise speech-language policies and procedures on an annual basis.
13. Manage program costs within the approved budget.
14. Adhere to safety rules and practices to ensure the well-being of staff, residents, and visitors.
15. Generate and implement ideas to improve resident care and increase productivity and satisfaction.

17. Provide exceptional customer service to residents, staff, and visitors.
18. Complete any additional duties assigned by supervisor, management staff, or Administrator.
Qualifications:
• Hold a M.A. or M.S. degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an approved school.
• Possess a valid New York State license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Preferably possess Clinical Competence Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others.
• Verification of qualifications by the New York State Department of Health, Office of Rehabilitation Therapies (license number/certification number).
• Ability to consistently perform tasks to established standards of excellence.
• Demonstrated dedication to the company's vision and mission, as well as adherence to the core values of Integrity, Teamwork, Passion for Excellence, and Reverence for the Individual.
