What is a Speech Therapy Assistant?
A Speech Therapy Assistant is a valuable member of our team who works under the guidance of ASHA-certified Speech Language Pathologists. They have received extensive academic training, completed fieldwork, and on-the-job training.
Job Description
As a Speech Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to our Speech Language Pathologists by assisting in the assessment and treatment of patients with language, speech, fluency, and voice disorders or impediments. Your role will involve helping with patient care, contributing to research efforts, implementing speech and language programs, and monitoring program effectiveness through data collection and analysis.
License or Certification:
To be considered for this position, you must already possess a current SLPA certificate by the start of employment. Additionally, you will need to have CPR certification, a TB skin test, auto insurance, and a driver's license.
Education, Training, and Experience:
At minimum, you must have an associate degree and/or have graduated from a Speech-Language Pathology assistant certificate program. While experience is preferred, it is not required.
