  • The selected candidate will join the REHAB unit exclusively.
  1. Our Speech-Language Therapy team plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our residents through the development and implementation of comprehensive speech-language therapy treatment plans. Moreover, they conduct audiometric screenings and collaborate with audiologists when necessary. This position is committed to delivering excellent resident care and maintaining the highest quality standards. 1. Conduct communication screenings and detailed evaluations for residents upon request, and provide written therapy plan recommendations.
2. Organize audiometric screening tests for residents and refer for further audiology evaluations or treatments as needed.
3. Initiate individualized speech-language therapy plans based on physician orders and maintain regular communication with the physician throughout the therapy program.
4. Promote and respect residents' rights, ensuring kindness and empathy in all interactions.
5. Accurately document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries for residents in the speech-language treatment program.
6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to address specific resident needs and integrate speech-language treatment with other disciplines.
7. Participate in Resident Care Planning, as well as Family/Resident Care Plan Review meetings for residents under speech-language treatment.
8. Maintain comprehensive records, including statistical reports, in-service education information, budget details, and inventory of materials and equipment.
9. Complete statistical reports for Medicare billing and fulfill assessment form requirements.
10. Attend staff meetings and participate in both mandatory and optional in-service training sessions.

11.Develop and conduct in-service training programs for facility personnel involved in resident care.
12. Regularly review speech-language policies and procedures, and update as needed.
13. Manage program costs within budgetary limits.
14. Adhere to safety rules and practices, ensuring the well-being of staff, residents, and visitors.
15. Generate innovative ideas to enhance resident care, increase productivity, and boost satisfaction.
16. Uphold service excellence standards and objectives established for this position and the entire staff.
17. Provide the highest level of customer service to residents, staff, and visitors.
18. Fulfill additional duties as assigned by supervisors, management, or the Administrator.


• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution is required.
• Valid license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of New York is required.
• Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
• Maturity, diplomacy, and the ability to collaborate effectively with others are essential.
• Verification of qualifications by the New York State Department of Health, Office of Rehabilitation Therapies (license number/certification number) is required.
• Ability to perform tasks according to high standards of excellence is vital.
