Sr Accountant
Manufacturing Senior Accountant
Location: Jersey City | On-site
Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company, is seeking a reliable and detail-focused Manufacturing Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly close activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in accounting principles, hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including operations, purchasing, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities

Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and accruals.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules.

Collaborate with plant operations and supply chain teams to reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS).

Manage fixed asset records, including tracking and calculating depreciation.

Assist in developing standard costs and analyzing cost variances.

Ensure adherence to internal accounting controls and assist with audit preparation.

Produce ad hoc reports and financial analysis to support leadership decision-making.

Partner with AP and AR teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies.

Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts by supplying historical data and financial insights.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Strong understanding of US GAAP and general ledger functions.

Experience in inventory and cost accounting is highly desirable.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, or NetSuite is preferred.

Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Team player with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
