Manufacturing Senior Accountant
Location: Jersey City | On-site

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company, is seeking a reliable and detail-focused Manufacturing Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly close activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in accounting principles, hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including operations, purchasing, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and accruals.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and supporting schedules.

• Collaborate with plant operations and supply chain teams to reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS).

• Manage fixed asset records, including tracking and calculating depreciation.

• Assist in developing standard costs and analyzing cost variances.

• Ensure adherence to internal accounting controls and assist with audit preparation.

• Produce ad hoc reports and financial analysis to support leadership decision-making.

• Partner with AP and AR teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies.

• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts by supplying historical data and financial insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Strong understanding of US GAAP and general ledger functions.

• Experience in inventory and cost accounting is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, or NetSuite is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Team player with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
