Currently, we are in search of a talented Senior Designer to join our team in Sugar Land, TX.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the design of Instrument & Control Systems for Oil & Gas Refineries and Chemical Plants.
  • Utilize 2D AutoCAD, Excel, and preferably MicroStation, CADWorx, BlueBeam, and Access tools.
  • Thoroughly review and make necessary revisions to P&IDs, interlock schematics, and motor schematics.
  • Develop wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, demo packages, and I/O loading documentation.
  • Create designs for Junction Boxes, Marshalling Panels, and DCS/PLC Cabinets, including Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Generate instrument installation details and prepare material take-offs for cost estimates.
  • Create conduit and cable tray drawings, encompassing support details and sizing calculations.
  • Provide expertise in low-voltage electrical design, adhering to NEC standards for instrument power panels, grounding, and bonding.
  • Conduct field surveys and actively support hot/cold cutovers.
  • Ensure that all work is executed in accordance with safety policies, industry codes, and client standards.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with team members and clients.

Requirements

Required:

  • 5-10+ years of experience in Instrument & Control System Design within the Oil & Gas and Chemical industries.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and Excel.
  • A strong understanding of instrumentation design, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Ability to work in field environments and actively participate in cutover planning and execution.
  • Familiarity with fiber routing and possess general fiber optic knowledge.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to prioritizing safety and maintaining quality standards in all tasks.

Preferred:

  • Experience with MicroStation, CADWorx, BlueBeam, and Access software.
  • Knowledge of NEC codes and general electrical design concepts.
