Sr.EIC Engineer (Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls)

What You'll Be Doing:

In this role, you will be responsible for a range of electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering tasks. Your main focus will be to improve the performance of multiple chemical production units and related auxiliary systems. Alongside your technical expertise in electric power systems, field instrumentation, and control systems, having a basic understanding of chemical and physical processes will be advantageous. Your key objectives will be ensuring safe operations, regulatory compliance, and maximizing the availability and efficiency of these units.

  • Collaborate closely with other EI&C Engineering professionals to ensure the safe operation and regulatory compliance of our production units. Support production unit availability and quality requirements.
  • Provide consultation and support for capital projects managed by the project engineering team. Contribute to the commissioning of new and modified production units. Participate in the planning and execution of system or unit turnarounds.
  • Assist the maintenance team in planning and executing ITPM (Inspection, Testing, Preventive Maintenance) and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) activities. Keep asset data up to date in our enterprise asset management and plant engineering systems. Maintain accurate documentation and equipment records.
  • Develop expertise in EI&C engineering judgment for your assigned process areas and subject matters. Assist in the development of specifications and standards. Supervise third-party providers of engineering and maintenance services. Represent our company's interests with suppliers and contractors.
  • Lead or support small-sized investment projects. Conduct or coordinate de-bottlenecking and troubleshooting activities. Facilitate process and technology transfer between our polysilicon production sites.
  • Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and cost.
  • Collaborate with various teams and individuals within the Engineering and Maintenance department, as well as other service units and operations, to achieve optimal results and solutions from a corporate enterprise perspective.
  • Execute all tasks and assignments in accordance with company policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Instrumentation, Automation, or Controls Engineering) or a Chemical Engineering degree with strong controls and 480V experience OR equivalent/related education.
  • At least 4 years of experience in the chemical and/or oil/gas industries (or similar industrial experience).
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a preferred advantage, but not required. Knowledge of Emerson delta V, SAP EAM, Functional Safety, and Comos is also desirable.
  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean methodologies is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong ability to multitask.
  • Objective judgment and fact-based decision-making approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary and intercultural teams.
  • Capability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a professional manner.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment of schedule and cost pressure. Must be a team player with a basic understanding of chemical and physical processes.
  • Thorough technical knowledge in the field of electrical engineering, instrumentation, and controls (EI&C), including relevant regulations, standards, and codes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operating and maintaining 480V equipment, such as motors and motor control centers (MCCs).
