Senior Electrical Engineer- Medical Devices

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer- Medical Devices to join our team. In this role, you will be involved in the entire lifecycle of medical device product development, from initial concept to commercialization. The successful candidate will possess excellent collaboration and problem-solving abilities, as well as a deep understanding of the medical device industry's key drivers. This position is a backfill, as the previous employee, who was highly regarded and served for a considerable duration, has found their dream job in the aerospace sector.

Key Responsibilities

● Contribute to the design and development of hardware and firmware for next-generation class II medical devices.
● Provide engineering production support for our existing product lineup. This includes troubleshooting complex production issues and working towards process and testing improvements.
● Lead the product verification process to ensure the qualification and release of medical diagnostic devices.
● Assist in the transition from engineering development to production by supporting design activities, documentation, test procedures, and fixturing.
● Support the development and maintenance of automated production test hardware and software.
● Collaborate with internal departments and teams to gather relevant information and ensure design continuity.
● Conduct investigations for failure analysis and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
● Ensure compliance with FDA, CE, and ISO standards throughout product development activities.
● Develop and maintain control documentation, including drawings, specifications, and procedures.
● Perform other assigned tasks as required.

Technical Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 6-15 years of industry experience as an Electrical Engineer.
● Proficiency in design and firmware development of microcontroller-based systems.
● Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
● Desired experience in the Medical Industry with FDA, CE Mark, and ISO standards.
● Excellent technical writing skills
● Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
● Strong problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and organizational skills.
● Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
