Sr. Environmental Manager (Multiplant)

Location: Perry, GA

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree (preferably in a related field) or equivalent work experience in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Biological Science with at least 4 years of relevant experience is strongly preferred. Additionally:

· Strong expertise in managing wastewater is a must. Certification in this area is highly desirable.

· Previous experience in managing teams is required.

· In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations at the federal, state, and local levels

· Proven ability to build relationships with representatives from relevant agencies

· Strong organizational skills for effective record keeping and documentation

· Commitment to finding innovative solutions to reduce carbon footprint

· Ability to manage budgets and control costs and assets

· Willingness to travel to remote facilities and/or offices for meetings

The Senior Environmental Compliance Manager (Multiplant) is responsible for ensuring compliance with all current and future environmental regulations imposed by the federal, state, and local authorities. This position involves applying for and maintaining applicable permits at three facilities located in Perry, GA. The facilities include two poultry processing plants and one distribution center. Areas of environmental concern include wastewater management, air quality, stormwater, recycling, hazardous waste, solid waste, bio-solid land application, and chemical compliance. The specific roles and responsibilities of this position are:

· Ensuring compliance with wastewater operations, air quality standards, bio solids programs, hazardous waste disposal, recycling initiatives, solid waste management, and handling of potable water and oil at the designated plant operations

· Supervising and managing a team of associates, including hiring, training, and development, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and reduction of carbon footprints

· Providing timely and accurate reports to various stakeholders, including safety reports, production reports, human resources reports, administrative reports, and reports to regulatory agencies

· Managing costs and assets to meet established goals

· Reporting to the Complex Director of Operations and maintaining a dotted-line reporting relationship with the Corporate Director of Environment Services

· Providing timely notification of activities, spill releases, and non-compliance incidents

· Developing and implementing sustainable waste recycling programs

· Establishing and implementing procedures to reduce the facility's consumption of natural gas, diesel fuel, electricity, compressed air, steam, and water

· Conducting environmental audits of other facilities twice per year

· Strict adherence to all safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), reporting unsafe acts and conditions, following Lockout/Tag Out procedures, and complying with process safety management guidelines
