Primary Responsibilities:

Participate in pre-bid meetings and gain a comprehensive understanding of the project's scope of work, even with limited information. Review and comprehend all project bid documents. Identify and communicate bid information to subcontractors and vendors for quotations on outsourced tasks. Conduct estimate takeoff using computerized estimating systems within designated timelines. Collaborate with other estimators, as well as different divisions and departments within the company. Finalize estimates on time and engage in team reviews with management during bid day. Assess subcontractor and vendor bids for adherence to work scope, schedule, specifications, and other bid requirements. Perform value engineering analysis to prioritize customer interests. Develop comprehensive scope of work narratives. Support field operations with the estimate following bid award. Meet proposal due date schedules. Demonstrate ability to generate estimates with minimal information. Maintain a holistic view of customer satisfaction while addressing minute details.

Qualifications:

At least 10 years of experience in mechanical estimating, particularly in industrial, HVAC, and/or plumbing projects. Proficient in process piping estimation. Thorough knowledge of estimating for both Design-Build and plan spec projects. Computer literate with proficiency in spreadsheet software and computerized on-screen takeoff programs. Capable of generating accurate, competitive estimates with minimal data. Ability to anticipate requirements and cost components in Design-Build projects. Excellent communication skills when interacting with customers, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and owners. In-depth knowledge of HVAC, industrial, and plumbing piping systems. Experience in both Design-Build and plan spec projects is preferred. A background of 10+ years in mechanical estimating for heavy industrial, HVAC, and/or plumbing projects is highly desired. Proficient in process piping estimation.
