Sr. Financial Analyst / Defense Program
Senior Defense Program Financial Analyst
Location: Herndon, VA
Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 per year + Bonus
Work Schedule: 4/10 work week
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Defense Program Financial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Earned Value Management data for multiple defense programs. You will also be involved in forecasting, variance analysis, project management, and creating and reviewing financial reports. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of financial management in a defense program setting.
Responsibilities:
- Forecast FPA metrics for program performance
- Conduct weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and variance analysis
- Create and update projects in SAP
- Ensure accuracy of EAC for all assigned efforts
- Mentor and guide junior team members
- Prepare Integrated Program Management Report (IPMR) deliverables
- Review variance reports with CAM input
- Develop and maintain program baseline budgets
- Assist in preparing proposal cost estimates and pricing data
- Support internal and external audits
- Provide ad hoc analysis as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, accounting, finance, or related field
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of relevant experience or Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of related experience.
- Experience with COBRA/SAP
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Expertise in Earned Value Management concepts and processes
- Knowledge of risk management, financial management, work breakdown structures, change management, cost estimating, configuration management, systems surveillance, operations, and procurement
- Familiarity with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations, ANSI-748-D, EVMIG, and NDIA Intent Guides
- US citizenship required
Preferred Additional Skills:
- MBA or CPA preferred
- Experience in a leadership development program
- Prior experience managing the financials for a highly visible program
- Knowledge of government contracts, funding profiles, sales outlook and variance analysis
- Experience with CPAF, CPFF, T&M, FFP, etc. contracts
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
- Certifications such as PMP, EVMP or similar
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in defense sector with a focus on program controls
- Proficient in Earned Value Management and FAR/DFAR contract types
- Security Clearance or ability to obtain one
