Sr. Financial Analyst- Physician Services (RJ-23367)

Seeking a Lead Financial Analyst for our Physician Services department located in Columbus, GA. This role involves administering the general accounting, financial, and statistical reporting functions of the Medical Group in accordance with established policies and accounting procedures.


  • Administer the physician compensation program based on contract parameters.
  • Develop the annual budget for the Medical Group, aligning with short and long-range plans.
  • Continuously review internal controls and implement enhancements where needed.
  • Provide training and monitor performance of subordinates to ensure fiscal responsibilities are fulfilled.
  • Assist the VP of Physician Services and Hospital CFO in developing long and short-range operations plans.
  • Prepare cash flow analyses and budget variance analyses.
  • Assist with month-end closing as required.
  • Monitor and analyze Medical Group financial performance, identifying trends and business opportunities.
  • Direct the preparation of internal financial reports and work papers for annual financial audits.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports that reliably reflect the hospital's financial position.
  • Take a lead role in analyzing and exploring means of reducing operating costs and increasing revenues.
  • Responsible for timely submission of financial data and reports required by government agencies.
  • Analyze and implement cost accounting rules to capture and maintain procedural costs.
  • Educate internal and external customers on cost accounting methodologies and usage.
  • Direct financial reporting and analysis using decision support data.
  • Collaborate with VP of Physician Services and practice operations team for monthly operating report summary.


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • CPA and/or master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as senior financial executive in a medical group setting.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive management experience in an investor-owned healthcare organization required.
  • Strong leadership skills with an approachable and team-player mindset.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire staff while maintaining high employee satisfaction.
