Sr. Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager

Location: Lewiston Woodville, NC

Exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior FSQA Manager! We are seeking a highly qualified individual to oversee operations at our large poultry processing plant in Lewiston, NC. In this role, you will take the lead in identifying, advancing, and implementing the company's Quality / Food Safety Policy and Quality Systems. You will also play a key role in identifying and investigating all Quality / Food Safety opportunities across various products, projects, and processes. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing strategies to drive measurable improvements through Quality Improvement and Continuous Improvement methods. Your specific duties will include:

Assessing, modifying as necessary, and enforcing Food Safety and Quality Management systems (FSQMS), including HACCP, SSOP, FSIS regulations, and programs.

· Providing executive reports on Food Safety and regulatory compliance, addressing concerns related to microbial management, and offering actionable recommendations. Ensuring proper execution of the company's microbial intervention processes in all assigned facilities.

· Serving as a Subject Matter Expert on various methodologies and recommending improvements when necessary.

· Demonstrating strong transformational skills (inspiring, problem-solving, communicating across multiple organizations, executing) to provide evidence-based leadership. Utilizing these skills to engage and collaborate with team members, management, and community leaders.

· Evaluating the current staffing situation to identify strengths and areas for improvement.

· Establishing and enhancing collaborative working relationships with sanitation and operations staff members.

· Cultivating a strong working relationship with USDA representatives.

· Leading and guiding the FSQA team in using digital data collection systems and other relevant formats, such as SafetyChain, Trace Gains, Power Bi, and similar platforms.

To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) and at least 10 years of experience in FSQA. You should also meet the following specific requirements:

· A minimum of 5 years of experience in the poultry industry is essential.

· Strong knowledge of food safety, certifications, and relevant regulations is required.

· A minimum of 10 years of progressive management or leadership experience is preferred.

· At least 6 years of experience in direct customer interface and support related to Quality and Food Safety is desired.

· Prior experience managing requirements around verification programs such as NAE, NGMO, Gluten Free, BRC, SQF, HACCP, etc., for a minimum of 6 years is a plus.

· In-depth background in microbiology and food science is highly desirable.

· Extensive experience engaging with regulatory bodies, particularly the USDA, is a strong plus.

· Proven ability to develop and maintain company records related to process workflows, USDA, FDA, and other regulatory organizations is important.

· Robust knowledge and experience in applying intervention systems to reduce microbial load and risk in poultry processing is highly advantageous.

· Excellent communication skills to effectively convey the company's Food Safety and Quality strategy to senior management, regulatory authorities, and customers.

· Proven track record of success in a rapidly growing organization, including the ability to effectively coordinate efforts in addressing regulatory concerns.

· Ability to think broadly and formulate innovative solutions.
