Sr. Mechanical Engineer – Capital Equipment Projects

Location: Nashville, TN

Our client, a renowned International Manufacturer generating over $900MM in global sales, is a leading player in the carbon and graphite products industry. Their thriving operation in the vicinity of Nashville, TN, is currently in need of a skilled Facilities Manager / Sr. Mechanical Engineer who will spearhead ongoing capital equipment projects aimed at upgrading the entire plant.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly-experienced, mechanically-inclined facilities/plant manager to oversee substantial investment projects within a fast-growing manufacturing operation.   • The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen due to the company's involvement in U.S. Defense Department projects. ITAR Rules will be applicable.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is necessary for this role. Other engineering degrees will be considered, though mechanical engineering aptitude is critical in this position.
  • A minimum of 10-20 years of engineering experience is a must.
  • 5-10 years of capital project experience ($5 - $10 million) is required. The candidate should have proven competence in capital project tracking and the ability to follow through Design - RFQ - Execution.
  • Demonstrated leadership in supervising engineers and project managers.
  • Proven experience in contract review and negotiation.
  • Experience handling commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed schematics, drawings, and specifications for equipment and utilities (P&ID and equipment drawings).
  • Effective troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis training.
  • Demonstrated participative management style in problem-solving, project implementation, and continuous improvement objectives.
  • Previous experience in plant/facility maintenance support, work order, and maintenance systems would be advantageous.
  • Experience with plant maintenance systems such as boilers and power distribution is a plus.
COMPENSATION: $100K to $125K base salary + potential annual bonuses up to 15%.
