A high-volume, internationally recognized manufacturing facility east of Atlanta is seeking a Sr. Production Engineer to lead process improvement and production efficiency initiatives in assembly, CNC machining, and plastic injection molding. This role is ideal for a driven mechanical engineer with a passion for continuous improvement, hands-on experience in high-volume environments, and a strong background in manufacturing systems and launch support.
Key Responsibilities:

Identify and implement improvements in existing production processes and systems.

Develop and maintain quality documentation (PFMEA, control plans, work instructions, inspection documents).

Support manufacturing systems, equipment installation, and maintenance to ensure compliance with quality and product specifications.

Coordinate new or revised product launches, including goal setting, training, and result evaluation.

Provide design-for-manufacturing input during product development.

Conduct cost-benefit analyses for efficiency gains, cost reduction, and quality improvements.

Lead or contribute to Kaizen and continuous improvement events.

Prepare and update plant layout plans, equipment specifications, and tooling documentation.

Train production and maintenance staff to improve technical knowledge and on-floor troubleshooting skills.

Assist with capital equipment projects and meet APQP, ISO 9001, and/or IATF 16949 standards.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing.

At least 3 years of hands-on experience with high-volume CNC machining, automated assembly, and/or plastic injection molding.

Proficient with 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks) and 2D CAD (preferably AutoCAD).

Strong troubleshooting skills with creative problem-solving ability.

Experience in OEE, scrap rate analysis, and capacity planning.

Familiarity with product launches and capital equipment projects.
-
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Organized, motivated, and able to lead cross-functional team efforts.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
