Senior Architectural Project Manager (RA)

Summary of the Position

The Senior Project Architect is responsible for providing guidance and support to the project team throughout all phases of the project. This role involves the development of designs and documentation, in compliance with industry and client standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

Project Leadership:

  • Assume project management responsibilities for assigned projects, including client and consultant meetings.
  • Manage project activities from initial design to construction administration.
  • Determine project documentation requirements through research and discussions.
  • Create architectural solutions to address client requirements and complexities.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop the project design, considering budget, schedule, and vision.
  • Oversee the creation of technical drawings and specifications for all project phases.
  • Compile the project product manual documenting design decisions.
  • Lead a team of technical staff in developing project documentation requirements and solutions.
  • Coordinate the integration of architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform code analysis and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct construction administration tasks, including shop drawing review and site visits.

Role as Document Team Leader:

  • Setting Project Documentation Requirements:

    • Communicate document requirements to the project team leaders.
    • Ensure compliance of documents with relevant codes.
  • Meeting Documentation Budget:

    • Create a work plan and delegate tasks to assigned staff.
    • Monitor documentation efforts to stay within the project budget.
  • Completing Documentation Within Project Schedule:

    • Establish documentation milestones to meet the project schedule.
  • Leading and Directing Documentation Team:

    • Direct and monitor the efforts of the document team members.
    • Report progress to the Project Manager.
    • Identify submittals for review during construction administration.
    • Approve modifications during construction administration.
    • Assist in document modifications required during construction administration.
  • Ensuring Quality of Drawings and Specifications:

    • Coordinate consultant documentation.
    • Create details consistent with design direction.
    • Incorporate quality assurance review comments.
    • Assemble final project documents and record space allocations.


  • Assist in Quality Control reviews and identify potential conflicts.
  • Support new business development opportunities and participate in the proposal/interview process.
  • Assume additional projects and duties as required.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) or Master of Architecture (MArch) degree.
  • Have at least 10 years of experience in architecture, including supervisory management.

Training Requirements (Licenses, Programs, or Certificates):

  • Must be a licensed Architect with Professional Registration.
  • Proficiency in advanced computer skills and information management, specifically Revit.
