Job Description:

We are in search of a skilled Senior Project Engineer specializing in Heat Pump technology to join our dynamic team. This role is based at our Heat Pump Engineering Center of Excellence in Lebanon, Tennessee, and offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to work on the latest technologies and contribute to the development of heat pump water heaters.

As a Senior Project Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing complex engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion
  • Applying engineering standards and procedures, offering expertise and solving challenges in the field
  • Juggling and prioritizing multiple projects while working effectively within a team
  • Communicating technical information to internal business units and cross-functional teams
  • Providing detailed test programs and plans, guiding Lab and CAD personnel
  • Conducting, documenting, and evaluating product-specific tests
  • Reviewing product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements
  • Coordinating activities to address technical developments, rescheduling issues, and design and test problems
  • Requesting, evaluating, and approving product design changes through the Product Changes Processes in the SAP system
  • Collaborating with other Engineering Staff, offering input within your area of expertise
  • Preparing project expense estimates and controlling expenditures within the allocated budget
  • Supporting field service engineering, addressing field inquiries, and incorporating improvements in future products
  • Maintaining professionalism in accordance with company values


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years of experience (OR) Master’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience (OR) Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience with Refrigerant Cycle in HVAC air conditioning systems and/or heat pumps
  • In-depth understanding of HVAC system functions, including refrigeration, heat transfer, airflow, and ventilation
  • Experience with components used in HVAC systems such as evaporator coils, compressors, condensers, and fans
  • Design and hands-on testing experience in air conditioning and/or Heat Pump technology
  • Proficiency in design, simulation, and analysis tools such as Solidworks, LabVIEW, EES, CFD, FEA, and ERP software (SAP or similar)
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel 10 - 15% for product testing, field installations review, and meetings with internal Engineering teams
