Sr. Reliability Engineer

Our client, a reputable poultry processor located in Perry, GA, is currently seeking a Principal Reliability Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the implementation, continuous improvement, and sustainability of reliability systems and processes within our manufacturing site. This position is crucial in delivering a strategic reliability-centered maintenance approach to optimize asset life and productivity through documented asset strategies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, managing, and coordinating the reliability programs and activities of our key assets, utilities, and support equipment using personal knowledge, engineering resources, OEM, and maintenance employees.
  • Identifying and managing reliability risks that may impact plant or business operations and recommending engineering solutions and project coordination for process improvements.
  • Establishing and maintaining reliable equipment through predictive and preventative maintenance tools and continuously seeking ways to reduce maintenance cost while ensuring high equipment availability and reliability.
  • Providing technical and project management support for the operation, maintenance, betterment, development, design, construction, and testing of manufacturing assets and ancillary components.
  • Supporting Area Teams in achieving production and cost goals through reliability leadership and implementing best practices to improve mean time between failures (MTBF) for assets.
  • Implementing reliability concepts such as Root Cause Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance technologies, and Preventive Maintenance development to enhance asset availability.
  • Driving production and uptime by utilizing reliability tools and processes including Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Gaining expertise in the design and operation of rotating equipment, developing equipment strategies, and managing mechanical integrity.
  • Developing and implementing plans for continuous improvement of production equipment, processes, and process controls.
  • Working closely with operations and maintenance teams to develop long-term equipment maintenance strategies and support troubleshooting efforts through Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Providing technical expertise to the site through the application of precision maintenance techniques and mentoring maintenance supervisors and craftsmen.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Reliability, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Advanced degree highly desirable).
  • Minimum of 5 years of reliability experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Meat/poultry processing experience highly desirable.
  • Experience developing asset strategies and implementing Reliability Centered Maintenance and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Strong technical expertise in precision maintenance techniques and equipment design and failure modes.
  • Supervisory experience highly desirable.
  • Experience or certifications in Predictive Maintenance technologies preferred.
  • CMRP or CRL certifications preferred.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma ideal.
  • Experience with computer maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to support risk-based inspection of fixed assets.
