As an RF Engineer, you will collaborate with project teams across various applications within our company's technology divisions. You will be involved in investigating customer needs, designing prototypes, and building products that demand creativity and attention to detail. Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This role operates in a professional office and laboratory environment. Standard office equipment such as laptops and photocopiers are used, along with specialized test equipment like vector network analyzers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, you may need to talk or hear. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are necessary. Physical tasks include lifting lab equipment, opening cabinets, and standing on a stool as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week. Typical office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, but may vary based on workload and manager's discretion. Exceptional workload may require more than 40 hours per week.
Travel
This position requires minimal travel (<10%).
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required (Master's Degree preferred)
- Experience with RF devices and networks, such as amplifiers, attenuators, phase shifters, and mixers
- Knowledge of RF signal budget analysis for system metrics including gain, noise figure, and power
- Strong analytical and hardware troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in a technical programming language like Matlab or Python
- Familiarity with RF test equipment, such as network analyzers and spectrum analyzers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts
- Experience with printed circuit board layout and assembly
- Ability and willingness to solve challenging problems
- Comfortable working in a lab environment
- Resilient and adaptable to failure and learning opportunities
Preferred Education and Experience
- Proven ability to contribute to multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Prior experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and board layout
- Previous exposure to front end design for radar or software defined radios (SDR)
- Experience with antenna design and testing
- Knowledge of electromagnetic simulation tools like HFSS, FEKO, CST, or Microwave Office
