Sr. Safety & Security Manager
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Safety & Health or another related field, such as Safety Engineering or Occupational Health & Safety is necessary. A Master’s degree in Environment, Safety & Health is preferred. In addition, a minimum of 10 years of experience in managing safety in a manufacturing setting across multiple locations is required. Other qualifications include:
· Proven track record of leading a highly effective safety program that has achieved a TRIR of less than 2.0.
· Valid driver’s license and US passport are required.
· Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities: As the Senior Safety and Security Director, you will be the designated expert in safety, health, and security, collaborating with operational leadership to drive positive outcomes. Your primary focus will be on maintaining an exemplary safety culture and improving safety processes across the Lewiston, NC food manufacturing complex and other facilities in eastern NC. Your key responsibilities include:
· Taking charge of all safety and security efforts at the Lewiston manufacturing complex and other field operations in Eastern North Carolina.
Managing safety for live production, garage/transportation operations, and other non-manufacturing facilities within the vicinity of the primary assignment, in collaboration with the regional safety director. Supporting a total of 1800 employees.
Directly overseeing and managing the daily activities and personnel matters of the facility and its security contract personnel.
Leading the facility security team and guard force, ensuring the implementation of effective security processes, development/administration of site security practices and policies, and tracking key performance indicators and training objectives.
Providing technical expertise to cross-functional teams to ensure safe operational processes and successful implementation of capital/engineering projects. Collaborating with experts from various fields, such as vehicle safety, corporate security, environmental management, and PSM, to align facility activities with organizational objectives. Ensuring that all processes and policies comply with relevant regulations from OSHA, NFPA, DHS, DOT, and other governing bodies.
Maintaining regular interactions with the hourly workforce to promote safety awareness, enhance associate engagement, and foster a world-class safety culture within the supported operations. Taking prompt action to address safety concerns and resolve issues.
Leading the development of the site safety business plan by analyzing relevant data and monitoring/reporting facility and corporate key performance indicators and metrics. Ensuring the plan's actions are implemented and conducting internal safety and security audits to track findings and ensure their timely resolution.
Providing support for training initiatives throughout the organization and ensuring that all required safety training is completed effectively and on time.
Conducting thorough investigations of all safety and security incidents, actively participating in complex and high-impact investigations. Identifying root causes and developing appropriate corrective actions, and overseeing their implementation to achieve closure. Utilizing incident data to create action plans addressing hazards and emerging trends.
Serving as a member of the incident command team and taking charge of emergency response activities as required.
Acting as a liaison for third-party assessments, audits, and inspections conducted by insurance carriers, local fire departments, risk engineering firms, OSHA, DHS, and other relevant agencies.
Establishing relationships with occupational health/medical professionals to improve worker safety, associate wellness, and case management at supported sites. Assisting in the management of all open workers' compensation claims in collaboration with the occupational health nurse and third-party administrator.
