Job Description: Retail Supervisor

Location: Sterling, VA

Responsibilities

• Achieve personal sales and client engagement objectives
• Oversee all activities necessary to meet store goals, including financial targets, customer service, HR management, operational controls, payroll, and operating expenses, while enhancing employee and customer engagement
• Supervise the setup of advertising displays and merchandise arrangements to boost sales
• Lead the gallery and its team in a professional and inclusive manner, adhering to HR standards and company policies
• Manage part-time sales employees, conduct effective performance discussions, set clear goals, and ensure accountability
• Coordinate and execute various events to achieve financial targets, such as Owner's Classes, clubs, demos, Creative Classes, and freelance educator events
• Provide exceptional customer service and continuously innovate to acquire and retain customers. Serve as a role model, prioritizing customer satisfaction
• Recruit, select, develop, and retain a strong team, while holding individuals accountable for their performance

Qualifications

• Display creativity and passion, and be willing to share sewing expertise with customers
• High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in Business or Fashion Design/Merchandising is a plus!
• At least one year of retail experience with proven sales closing ability. Ability to forecast business trends, analyze data, and optimize store performance
• Direct knowledge of our machines and products
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment
• Excellent communication skills using various technologies (telephone, computer, etc.)
• Physical ability to occasionally move within the office and lift products weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as remain stationary when required
• Flexibility to work evenings, holidays, and weekends to meet business needs
