Job Description: Retail Store Supervisor

Location: Tacoma, WA

Responsibilities

• Achieve personal selling and client engagement goals
• Oversee all activities necessary to achieve store goals, such as financial objectives, client service, human resources management, operational controls, payroll, and operating expenses, while promoting associate and client engagement
• Coordinate the setup of advertising displays and merchandise arrangements to boost sales
• Manage the gallery and its team members professionally and inclusively, adhering to Human Resource standards outlined in company policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines
• Supervise part-time sales employees, conducting effective performance discussions, setting clear objectives, and holding associates accountable for goals
• Coordinate and execute Owner's Classes, clubs, demos, Creative Classes, and other events to achieve financial goals
• Provide exceptional customer service and innovative solutions to attract and retain customers, serving as a role model to prioritize client satisfaction
• Recruit, select, develop, and retain a full store team and ensure individual performance accountability

Qualifications

• Demonstrate creativity, passion, and willingness to share sewing expertise with customers
• High School diploma or equivalent required; Business or Fashion Design/Merchandising degree is a plus!
• One or more years of retail experience with a proven track record in closing sales
• Ability to forecast and analyze business trends, manage payroll expenses, and maximize store performance
• Direct knowledge of our machines and products
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic retail environment
• Effective communication skills through various technology platforms (phone, computer)
• Ability to move around the office and access file cabinets, meeting rooms, copier/printer, etc. as well as spend 50% of the time remaining in a stationary position
• Capable of lifting sewing machines weighing up to 50 pounds and repositioning products
• Flexibility to work evenings, holidays, and weekends to meet business needs
