This position reports directly to the Head of the Structural Division.

Qualifications

§ Education and Background

o Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Mechanical Engineering degrees will not be considered)

EIT or PE certification

NCEES registration is a plus

o Minimum of 2 years of experience in structural design, working with various building materials such as steel, concrete, precast concrete, tilt-up concrete, masonry, and cold-formed steel framing. Familiarity with construction details and requirements for each material, as well as experience with special and deep foundations.

o Design-Build experience or a strong desire to work in that environment

o Experience working on industrial, distribution, or logistics building projects is preferred

o Construction experience is desirable

o Experience with renovation, upfit, and expansion projects is beneficial

§ Knowledge and Skills

o Self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills, capable of working effectively in a team environment with architects, engineers, and construction professionals. Must have attention to detail and high motivation to oversee, direct, and assign work to the Structural Department Staff.

o Excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills

o Strong analytical abilities to support program development and design decisions

o Thorough knowledge of current building codes and regulations, such as ICC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, AISI, TMS, and FM Global

o Experience in defining and specifying design loads, selecting materials, developing project specifications, creating construction drawings, reviewing shop drawings, and resolving issues during construction

o Ability to visit client facilities and construction sites to observe and assess existing conditions and potential challenges

o Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite. Familiarity with RAM Structural Systems, ENERCALC, or similar computer-aided design software

o Proven ability to independently produce documentation for medium and large projects

o Willingness to participate in sales and marketing efforts, including preparing project design proposals, estimating design fees, and attending business development functions
