Structures Superintendent- Bridges

We are seeking a skilled Structures Superintendent (Bridges) to lead and coordinate all aspects of superstructure construction design-build projects. This role will involve overseeing the field crew and subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently with the highest quality workmanship.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Bridges Manager to develop effective plans and methods for work activities, including safety action plans.
  • Review contracts, project documentation, and plans to ensure compliance with the latest specifications and standards.
  • Plan day-to-day operations for assigned projects, ensuring the availability of necessary resources, such as labor, tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Take responsibility for crew performance, aligning with company goals, conducting safety audits, and enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Implement necessary follow-up actions, such as training, orientation, and disciplinary measures.
  • Conduct daily briefings with the crew to discuss production goals, provide performance feedback, address safety and scheduling concerns, and gather input from workers.
  • Demonstrate and promote a strong commitment to safety, emphasizing safe work practices and compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure that all field personnel have access to and correctly use appropriate safety equipment.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers to ensure their satisfaction with the project.
  • Coordinate work and goals with contractors and sub-contractors.

Requirements

 

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent in civil bridge/concrete infrastructure construction.
  • Experience in installing bridge girders, setting up bridge deck machines, and working with steel and concrete diaphragms. Knowledge of Borg System is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HCSS/HeavyJob is preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing crews of 10 or more employees.
  • Ability to read and interpret project-specific documents, including schedules, plans, and specifications.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate instructions to the crew.
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions related to the work being performed.
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions accurately.
  • Proficiency in maintaining records, preparing production reports, timesheets, equipment logs, inspection reports, change orders, and updating project files.
  • Willingness to perform other administrative and project-based duties as assigned.
