Job Title: Civil Construction Supervisor

Location: Fargo, ND

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan and develop efficient strategies for underground construction and design build projects, prioritizing safety measures.
  • Ensure that all field work adheres to the latest specifications by thoroughly reviewing contracts, project documents, and plans.
  • Organize and oversee the day-to-day operations on the assigned project, guaranteeing the availability of necessary resources such as labor, tools, equipment, and materials for timely project completion.
  • Manage crew performance, ensuring alignment with company goals, safety protocols, and established policies and procedures.
  • Implement necessary actions, including training, discipline, and orientation, to uphold high workforce standards.
  • Conduct daily briefings with the crew to discuss production goals, safety guidelines, and schedules, while actively seeking input from workers.
  • Model and enforce safe work practices and company policies, maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety.
  • Verify the availability and usage of appropriate safety equipment by all field personnel.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to ensure their satisfaction with the services provided.
  • Coordinate work, goals, and other relevant information with contractors and subcontractors.

Requirements

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pipe foreman and 5 years as a civil utility construction supervisor.
  • Extensive knowledge of underground utilities, including water, storm, and sewer systems.
  • Proven track record in managing crews of 10 or more employees.
  • Ability to interpret and understand project-specific documents such as schedules, plans, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively provide instructions and supervise crew members.
  • Comprehensive understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions related to the work being performed.
  • Capability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in record-keeping and preparing various reports, including production reports, timesheets, equipment logs, inspection reports, change orders, and project files updates.
  • Willingness to undertake additional administrative or project-related tasks as assigned.
