Job Title: Civil Construction Supervisor
Location: Fargo, ND
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan and develop efficient strategies for underground construction and design build projects, prioritizing safety measures.
- Ensure that all field work adheres to the latest specifications by thoroughly reviewing contracts, project documents, and plans.
- Organize and oversee the day-to-day operations on the assigned project, guaranteeing the availability of necessary resources such as labor, tools, equipment, and materials for timely project completion.
- Manage crew performance, ensuring alignment with company goals, safety protocols, and established policies and procedures.
- Implement necessary actions, including training, discipline, and orientation, to uphold high workforce standards.
- Conduct daily briefings with the crew to discuss production goals, safety guidelines, and schedules, while actively seeking input from workers.
- Model and enforce safe work practices and company policies, maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety.
- Verify the availability and usage of appropriate safety equipment by all field personnel.
- Communicate effectively with customers to ensure their satisfaction with the services provided.
- Coordinate work, goals, and other relevant information with contractors and subcontractors.
Requirements
Experience/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pipe foreman and 5 years as a civil utility construction supervisor.
- Extensive knowledge of underground utilities, including water, storm, and sewer systems.
- Proven track record in managing crews of 10 or more employees.
- Ability to interpret and understand project-specific documents such as schedules, plans, and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively provide instructions and supervise crew members.
- Comprehensive understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions related to the work being performed.
- Capability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and preparing various reports, including production reports, timesheets, equipment logs, inspection reports, change orders, and project files updates.
- Willingness to undertake additional administrative or project-related tasks as assigned.
