A major international manufacturer is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer I or II to join their team at a high-volume production facility located east of Atlanta, GA. Key Responsibilities:

Lead supplier SREA changes and review Supplier PPAP documentation with cross-functional teams.

Analyze supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Develop and maintain inspection and audit standards for incoming materials and products.

Implement training strategies for Supplier Quality Assurance and inspection teams on testing equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs, Vision Systems).

Improve receiving inspection processes for supplier components.

Coordinate raw material audits and product inspections across the production process.

Lead quality improvement projects, root cause analysis, and development of corrective actions.

Oversee joint analysis of complex supplier issues and monitor 8D submissions.

Participate in Kaizen and other continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform and maintain internal and supplier CQI assessments (e.g., CQI-9 for heat treat processes).

Maintain inspection databases and generate quality reports.

Supervise sorting activities and manage the return process for defective parts.

Conduct full layout inspections and CpK analysis for special characteristics in compliance with customer requirements.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field.

Engineer I: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Engineer II: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Experience with SPC, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, capability studies, and measurement tools.

Background in automotive manufacturing preferred.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Supervisory experience of technical personnel (minimum 2 years preferred).

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Access experience a plus.

Willingness to travel overnight up to 10% as needed.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to manufacturing areas requiring PPE and steel toe shoes.
-
Must be able to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
