As a Surgical Technology Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the operating room, ensuring optimal patient outcomes during surgical and obstetrical procedures through your expertise in instrumentation and equipment.
Effectively sterilize and decontaminate instruments and/or scopes, documenting all activities in a comprehensive log.
Maintain open communication with the equipment coordinator and/or manager regarding any equipment issues or concerns within the operating room.
Collaborate with the surgery team to maintain accurate preference cards for each procedure.
Demonstrate exceptional knowledge and skills, while willingly embracing an equitable on-call schedule as determined by staffing needs.
Efficiently minimize costs per procedure by avoiding unnecessary supply utilization.
Promptly respond to hospital requests within a 30-minute timeframe.
Participate in department specialty focus team and assume responsibility for assigned area(s).
Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification is mandatory.
Current ACLS certification is required or must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
Additional Info:
This is a full-time position from 7am to 3:30pm, with on-call duty once a week and one weekend per month. Candidates must reside within a 30-mile radius of the facility.
The hospital offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $21 to $30, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Deductibles start as low as $250 for individuals and $500 for families, with full coverage at the facility. Additionally, the retirement plan includes a 3% match when an employee contributes 3%, and the facility provides an additional 1.5% for a total of 7.5%.
